Vernon is a town located in Tolland County, Connecticut and is located just 22 minutes from Hartford CT, 33 minutes from Springfield MA and just 28 minutes from Bradley International Airport. Looking for a day or weekend trip to a big city? Vernon is located just 1 hour and 45 minutes from Boston MA and just 2 hours and 55 minutes from New York City.
The town population at the census was 29,179 with a population density of 1,582.8 people per square mile. The median income for a household was $47,816 and the median income for a family was $59,599. What that means for you is that you get primarly blue collar residents with a more rural feel than some of the Connecticut towns nearby such as Manchester or East Hartford but a more urban feel than Ellington or Tolland.
